2007: 500 public meetings with Newropeans… under the theme: “The new European generations and the EU’s future”.
Newropeans’ Executive Committee members and other activists of Newropeans will tour Europe in bi-national couples, for the 2007 Newropeans’ Democracy Marathon. We will tour Europe during 10 months, starting on January 15th, in Vienna: the 2006 Marathon, with its dozens of conferences held in two months, was just a warm-up. The calendar of the main weeks has already been written: the 2007 Newropeans Democracy Marathon will start in Austria, in January, and conclude in December in Romania and Bulgaria. It will touch all countries visited last year, adding, this year, Poland and Portugal. If you want to join in this initiative, email to marathon2007@newropeans.eu.
Newropeans celebrates Erasmus 20th birthday … by launching the debate over its follow-up for the next 20 years
Half of the conferences of the 2007 Democracy Marathon will be held in Universities, under a special topic : ‘The new European Generations and the future of European higher education’. Because in 2007, the Erasmus program is partying its 20th anniversary, and Newropeans’ President, Franck Biancheri, has been one of the main figures pushing for the adoption of that program with Aegee-Europe in 1986/1987.
